full moon + pasta dinner

bits of wednesday

I came across this photo from a work trip to Kenya back in December and thought it was too good not to share.

And then there's Muizenberg beach in the late afternoon. (Today.)

In a Risky Place

“As women we are in a very, very risky place.”  - Doris Museti, Mukuru Kwa Reuben, Nairobi I arrive in Nairobi on Friday and head straight to Muungano House. The building is home to the offices of the Kenyan SDI Alliance, made up of Muungano wa Wanavijiji (the Kenyan federation), Muungano Support Trust (MuST; support NGO to Muungano) and Akiba Mashinani Trust (the finance facility for Muungano). We drive along the Atlantic coastline  Touching fingers with the sky, the sea  The clouds hang heavy Moisture filling the air
The dogs pile out onto the sand  Waves crash before us
I am blessed here I think  Blessed by this ocean,  This sky  Blessed by these heavy clouds above me  And the sand beneath my feet
Crowding back into the car  The clouds part  Sunlight beaming onto the sea
I am blessed here  I think  High above the ocean  Beneath the opening sky
